The Results
The winners of The Travel Marketing Awards were announced at a lively ceremony at The Park Lane Hotel, London on Monday 16 March.
Five Gold winners and a further 21 Silver winners went home clutching their awards.
The star of the Awards was undoubtedly ‘Terminal 5 is Working’ by BBH for British Airways, with five Awards, four of them being awarded a Gold standard. In a repeat of Slumdog Millionaire’s success, BA’s Media Manager Anna West trod a groove in the carpet!
But there were 21 other winning agency/client combinations, and the fifth Gold of the evening went to von Essen Hotels for their Viral Communication 'Culinary Espionage'. With a budget of less than £1,000, this campaign proved it wasn't just the big budget productions that get to win Awards!
The winners were chosen by three panels of judges whose scores assessed four different criteria – Creativity, Execution, Rationale and Results.
The average of the total marks were then used to determine whether the runner up and winners qualify for a Bronze, Silver or Gold standard.
By marking the Awards in this way, CIMTIG were truly recognising marketing excellence in the travel industry, as well as hoping to encourage higher standards of entry every year.
